Green Point, Cape Town

Green Point is a popular area among young professionals working in the city, with the CBD and De Waterkant district located five minutes away. 

The main stretch, Somerset Road, is a hub of activity, with a number or restaurants, bars and clubs based here, while the Cape Town Stadium - built for the 2010 Football World Cup - often hosts live events, including local football matches and concerts.

There is also plenty for young families to enjoy, with the Green Point Urban Park a wonderful setting for kids and parents, and the Sea Point Promenade a favourite stretch to walk - or cycle - with the Atlantic Ocean alongside.

Shopping

Somerset Road has two supermarkets, a Woolworths and a Spar, as well as some smaller niche stores. The V&A Waterfront is also close by, while Sea Point can also cater to a larger variety of purchases.

Restaurants and bars

There are a number of restaurants and bars to choose from in Green Point, with El Burro a great spot for some authentic Mexican food and Hudsons on Somerset the perfect place for a burger and beer.

Schools

The well-considered private school, Reddam House, is based in Green Point, while Ellerton and Sea Point Primary are located in nearby Sea Point.

Hospitals

The Sea Point Medical Centre, Cape Town Mediclinic and Christian Barnard Hospital in the Cape Town City Centre are all easily accessible by car.
