Camps Bay at a glance

Think Venice Beach in an African setting, with the iconic Table Mountain as a backdrop and the Atlantic Ocean on your doorstep, the scenery in Camps Bay is quite simply breath-taking. Victoria Road is the pulse of this neighbourhood, a Palm Tree-lined hub of activity, with a vibrant sprawl of trendy restaurants and bars.

In summer, the strip is a hive of activity from morning till night, with holiday-makers and locals taking advantage of the Mediterranean-like weather, pristine white beaches and entertainment. Properties range from sprawling villas built further up the slopes of Table Mountain to luxury apartments perfect for beach holiday.

Shopping

For groceries, there is a Pick 'n Pay located on Victoria Road, as well as a number of smaller stores, while if you're looking something more specific, the V&A Waterfront is just 10-minutes by car - the MyCiti bus routes also run through Camps Bay - and here you will find everything from luxury retail stores and markets to electronics and speciality shops.

Restaurants and bars

Camps Bay is a mecca of top restaurants and bars, with a number of options to choose from, including mainstays like Café Caprice, Paranga, Blues and Umi. Lunches on the strip often merge into sundowners as the sun dips below the Atlantic Ocean, as heady summer days become vibrant nights on the Victoria Road strip.

Schools

Camps Bay Junior and High Schools have excellent reputations and are both centrally located in the area.

Hospitals

Camps Bay does not have any hospitals located in the area, but the Sea Point Medical Centre, Cape Town Mediclinic and Christian Barnard Hospital in the Cape Town City Centre are all easily accessible by car.
